A local family is still searching for their teenage daughter after she went missing last month.

Jeff Parks, a spokesperson for the Whatcom County Sheriff's office, said Kelsey Scott, 14, of Birch Bay, is presumed to have run away with her boyfriend and that the case is not presumed to be an abduction or a case involving a stranger. Her family reported her missing on August 16.

Scott has brown hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. She was last seen in the Blaine area and is believed to be still in the area or have traveled to California.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 800/843-5678 or WCSO at 360/676-6911.
