Local stained glass artists will hold a "build a heart" workshop at 9:30 a.m. Saturday January 15 in the Blaine high school art room to benefit the school wind ensemble's annual trip to Japan for the Funibashi music festival in Tokyo.

The glass hearts are going to be made by several of the students who will be leaving for Japan later this month.  The students will take the glass hearts along with them as gifts to present to their home stay hosts and other people they meet along the way.  Local artists such as Allie Ryser are donating the glass, supplies and tools for the project as well as their guidance.
