High school students from throughout Washington state can still sign up for the Northwest High School Math Championship before Monday, January 31.

The event is sponsored by the Blaine school district and ConocoPhillips’ Ferndale refinery and brings together hundreds of students from high schools throughout Washington to compete for state math supremacy.

Mathletes in two divisions will participate in one individual and four team events at Blaine high school. Competitors will test their skills at mental math, geometry, algebra and other challenges without the use of a calculator. The day concludes with an awards ceremony at 2 p.m.

To register, visit their website at www.blainesd.org/mathchamps/High_School/Register.html, or contact competition director Mike Dahl 360/820 3492 or by emailing mdahl@blainesd.org.
