The salmon recovery effort at Terrell Creek received an unprecedented shot in the arm earlier this month. Steve Seymour, of the Fish and Wildlife Department, placed 100,000 chum salmon eggs into the remote site incubator near Lake Terrell, doubling the previous record. This is great news for the Chums of Terrell Creek, a local volunteer group, who will be monitoring the incubator under the direction of the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association, a non-profit group dedicated to the restoration of wild salmon runs in Whatcom County.
