Blaine-based cold storage company T.C. Trading has closed a $1.5 million purchase on two warehouse buildings at Odell and Pipeline roads.

The company bought the buildings from CBE Holdings on February 28, according to Ron Freeman of Freeman Real Estate, who managed the sale. The two buildings, located at 1499 Odell Road, total 44,000 square feet of warehouse space.

T.C Trading plans to convert the buildings to cold storage, Freeman said. T.C. Trading has another cold storage facility on Boblett Street, just north of the recently purchased buildings.

T.C. Trading will need to convert the buildings back to cold storage, Freeman said. The buildings were originally built for cold storage, but were converted by CBE Holdings for the manufacture of glass and ceramic tiles.

Freeman Real Estate sold the buildings in 2007 for $2.1 million to CBE, which did business there under the name of Interstyle Clay Company, Freeman said. Interstyle, based in Burnaby, B.C., manufactured glass and ceramic tiles until the poor economy and lower sales forced them to sell the buildings, Freeman explained.
