Woman dies in Custer crash

A 58-year-old woman was killed Sunday after the vehicle she was driving left the roadway.

Washington State Patrol troopers said that Laurel Crittenden, of Custer, was driving her 1993 Volvo station wagon northbound on Custer School Road at about 5:30 p.m., Sunday, when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, left the roadway and struck a tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Washington State Patrol officers are investigating the cause of the accident, and it is not known if alcohol or drugs were involved.
