The Blaine planning commission has scheduled a public hearing to discuss changes to building code standards within the city.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at city hall and will allow time for public comment. The commission has recommended code amendments for small new developments which would allow them to pay a reduced fee in lieu of building costly street improvements in an effort to encourage business growth.
The new code amendments would also allow for more low-impact development techniques.
