The previous series sold in seven other countries, including Brazil, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Turkey. Disney Films is also optioning his first book under the title “Grandma’s Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast.”
A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, Smith attended Sehome high school and Western Washington University before earning a masters in fine arts in writing for children and young adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Before launching his writing career, Smith taught high school English at Nooksack Valley, Bellingham and Blaine high school.
