Come right in, month of June, you haven’t arrived a bit too soon.

It’s been a bit chilly here in Blaine and some are weary of cold and rain. We look forward to beautiful roses, blossoming vines, longer days with warm starry nights and the music of mowers.

The Blaine Senior Center is a gathering place where friendship is forged at a quickening pace. There are things to see, people and places and friends to be greeted with bright happy faces.

Following are the special events planned for June:

Thursday, June 9: Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard – Carole Liebert talks about this wonderful service to the needy.

Friday, June 10: Maritime Day. Start the summer with a ride on the Plover (sign up in advance) at 10:30 a.m. At lunchtime, Captain Rouge Songs of the Sea – wear something nautical and be eligible for a door prize.

Tuesday, June 14: Professional foot-care services. Schedule an appointment between 9 and 10 a.m.

Have a very happy June! Time passes quickly – the year is almost half over! Take time to smell the roses.
