Connect food to farm by touring Whatcom County farms during the fourth annual Whatcom County Farm Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 10.

The farm tour is part of Sustainable Connections’ first-ever Eat Local Month, and is just one of a number of events in September celebrating local food producers and restaurants.

Author Amy Pennington will speak at Bellingham’s Village Books at 7 p.m. September 9 on her book “Apartment Gardening: Plants, Projects and Recipes for Growing Food in Your Urban Home.” Pennington will also give a cooking demonstration at the Sustainable Connections booth at Saturday’s Bellingham Farmers Market.
