Ballot drop boxes will be available next week

County voters will no longer need to wait until election day to drop their ballots of at a county-maintained drop box.

Starting October 24, drop boxes will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at various places throughout the county, including the Blaine Library, located at 610 3rd Street.

The drive-up ballot drop boxes will take the place of the staffed, indoor drop sites that would have been opened on election day.

All the drive-up ballot drop sites will be closed at 8 p.m. on election day, November 8. The Whatcom County Auditor’s Office will begin mailing ballots out on Friday, October 21.

Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 8. For more information visit the Whatcom County elections
