Dawson Construction was presented with a 2011 Distinguished Project Award by the Northwest Construction Consumer Council (NWCCC) on November 2, in the private projects over $10 million category, for its work on the BP Cherry Point maintenance facility relocation in Blaine.

The award recognizes the company’s exemplary safety record throughout the course of construction.

The project involved building a 98,000-square-foot maintenance shop along with a 28,000-square-foot warehouse building, as well as approximately 150 acres of wetlands mitigation.

The $35 million project involved roughly 230,000 man hours and was completed with zero injuries or recordable safety incidents, finished ahead of schedule and returned savings to the owner.
