Author Naomi Benaron will speak at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 21 at Village Books in Bellingham. Benaron is the author of "Running the Rift," a novel following a young Rwandan runner during the height of Hutu/Tutsi tensions.

The book won the 2010 Bellwether Prize, awarded biennially to an unpublished work of fiction addressing issues of social justice.
