January 31: U.S. Border Patrol agents patrolling an area east of Blaine discovered footprintsof two subjects leading away from the international border. The agents following the footprints encountered the two subjects hiding in the woods in an attempt to avoid detection. The subjects, both citizens of Mexico illegally present in the U.S., were placed under arrest and transported to the station for processing. One of the individuals had a criminal history including felony charges in 2006 for trafficking illegal drugs. Further investigation revealed an active extraditable warrant out of Clayton County, Georgia, for methamphetamine trafficking stemming from the 2006 arrest, which carries a minimum sentence of five years if convicted. Arrangements were made for the extradition of the subject to Georgia and an immigration detainer was placed on the subject.The individual will answer to the immigration-related charges after the charges in Georgia are adjudicated. The second subject was processed for removal.

January 31: Agents apprehended two citizens of Guatemala as a result of a vehicle stop near Forks. The two individuals, determined to be illegally present in the United States, were placed under arrest and processed for removal.

February 2: Remote video surveillance system operators observed a subject enter illegally into the U.S. from Canada near Blaine. Agents responded and encountered an individual hiding in the woods just south of the border. The subject, a Mexican citizen illegally present in the U.S., was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

February 2: A Mexican citizen illegally present in the U.S. came to the U.S. Border Patrol station in Bellingham and requested to return to Mexico. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for reinstatement of a prior order of removal.

February 6: A U.S. border patrol agent encountered four subjects walking southbound from the U.S./Canada border in an area east of Sumas. The four subjects, all citizens of India, were determined to be illegally present in the U.S. and were processed for removal.
