As a homeowner, how would you like to reduce energy use, save money, improve comfort and increase your home value – all while protecting our environment?
You can do so by participating in the Community Energy Challenge (CEC). All you have to do is sign up for a home energy assessment, during which an analyst evaluates your home.
The energy assessment costs $195, after which the analyst interprets the results and gives you a list of recommended improvements, starting with the most cost-effective steps you can take.
The CEC will connect you with qualified contractors and provides 100 percent quality assurance on all work. If you choose work that the analyst recommends, the cost of the assessment is credited toward the project. The CEC will also show you how you can take advantage of up to $1,500 in additional incentives and rebates.
“To date, CEC has worked with more than 650 homes in Whatcom County,” said Alex Ramel, Energy and Policy Manager for Sustainable Connections. “The average home is saving more than $450 per year in energy costs.”
