The Blaine Community Senior Center is celebrating America’s birthday month. We are anticipating a great July that will bring many interesting opportunities for service and  activities.

Nutritious lunches are served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
If you want a healthy way to lose weight and get support, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Tuesday in July at 10:30 a.m. Call the office to register. Cost is $1 donation.

Friday, July 6, 12:30 p.m.: Bingo (donated prizes welcome).

Thursday, July 12, noon: Learn more about the Panama rainforest, its culture and the sights of this beautiful country. Two speakers from the Whatcom County Senior Tour program are giving the presentation.
Friday,  July 13, 11 a.m.: Annual Plover ride. Take a ride on the historical Plover and see the sea lions and large pink starfish at Semiahmoo. The tour will leave the Blaine Senior Center at 10:45 a.m. or you may meet at the tour group at the Blaine Marina. The boat will leave at 11 a.m. and return about 11:45 a.m., in time to still eat lunch at the center
Friday, July 13, 12:30 p.m.: Bingo.

Monday, July 16, 4 p.m.:  Beginning Fitness, offered by Northwest Park & Recreation.

Wednesday, July 18, 9 a.m.: Full Body Fitness, offered by Northwest Park & Recreation.

Wednesday, July 18, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:  Picnic lunch at Peace Arch Park featuring Bob Storms Dixieland Band. Need a Discover Pass or disabled pass to park for free, otherwise either park outside the gate and walk in, or take a shuttle from the senior center.

Friday, July 20, 12:30 p.m.: Bingo.

Tuesday, July 24, noon. Informative talk on foot care presented by Connie Webster, R.N.

Thursday, July 26, 12:30 p.m.: Tour the Bellingham Railway Museum. Leave the center at 12:30 p.m. or meet us there at 1 p.m. Cost is $4 ($3 if we have a group of 10 or more). The genesis of the Bellingham Railway Museum can be traced back to early 2003 when a group of local railroad modelers joined up with local railroad history enthusiasts to set up a G gauge layout and history displays in the SPARK Museum of Electrical invention. Friday, July 27, 12:30 p.m.: Bingo with an Ice Cream Social sponsored by Jim Ross of Sterling Health Care at 1:30 p. m.
