Summer learning camps that link education with practical life experiences will be available this summer through Northwest
Park & Recreation District 2 (NWPRD2).
The camps are designed for children ages 7 to 15 and are scheduled so participants may choose to attend just one week or several weeks.
Camps began on Monday, July 9, and conclude the week of August 20. Camp themes include biology, geology, ecology, engineering, physics and writing.
Other activities will be available, such as badminton, fly fishing, photography, cooking and building hot air balloons and gliders. Single-day field trips featuring sea kayaking, whale watching and river rafting also are offered.
The camps are co-sponsored by Tutor Doctor, which is providing many of the instructors. The sessions are scheduled at various locations in Blaine and Birch Bay.
