Let’s Move Blaine! organizers have announced their first partnership with a local business to promote the Passport to Fun Summer Health Challenge.
Elementary school-aged children in Blaine and Birch Bay can now receive half-off admission at the Birch Bay Waterslides when they get their Passport to Fun stamped at the waterpark, Let’s Move Blaine! organizer Dan Persse said. Children received their Passport to Fun punch cards at the end of the 2011/2012 school year and can pick up additional cards at the Blaine Library.
Children can get their passports stamped at other events promoting physical activity throughout the summer, a full listing of which can be found on the Let’s Move Blaine! website.
Come mid-September, any child who returns their stamped passports to Persse will be entered into a drawing to win a 2013 season pass to the Birch Bay Waterslides. Persse said there is no requirement for the minimum amount of stamps on a single passport.
“One stamp, three full [passports], it doesn’t matter,” Persse said.
Let’s Move Blaine! is part of a national campaign to reduce childhood obesity by promoting physical activity. For more information on the program, visit letsmoveblaine.org.
