Joel T. Crowley of Custer was killed on Monday evening, September 3, when he ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle.
The 72-year-old was driving his Toyota Corolla northbound on Custer School Road when he struck a Ford Mustang going eastbound on Birch Bay-Lynden Road. The Mustang then struck a GMC Yukon that was driving westbound on Birch Bay-Lynden Road.
The driver of the Ford Mustang, 33-year-old Heather Larson of Custer, was transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center; none of her four passengers was injured. The driver of the Yukon, 62-year-old Patrick Fitzsimmons of Custer, had unspecified injuries that didn’t require transport to the hospital.
