Though the Wednesday walking group led by Northwest Park and Recreation District 2 has proven popular, some Blaine and Birch Bay residents are itching for more challenging excursions.
So NWPRD2 organized a handful of hikes, taking residents a bit further afield – including a six-mile loop to White Rock, B.C., a four-mile jaunt in the Stimpson Nature Reserve and a five-mile trek to Fragrance Lake on Wednesday, September 19.
“(These hikes) are an opportunity to get local people together and explore other parts of Whatcom County,” NWPRD2 office manager Heidi Holmes said.
To join the hike to Fragrance Lake, meet at Woods Coffee in Birch Bay Square at 9 a.m. to carpool. Contact Holmes to preregister at 656-6416 or email@example.com
