A series of community forums in Whatcom County will give residents a chance to suggest ideas to support the area’s quality of life and develop its long-term vision.
The project, Whatcom County Futures: Toward a Sustainable Economy, was developed by the Northwest Economic Council with support from the Whatcom Community Foundation.
Its goal is to create a long-term vision statement for the county’s future growth, economic development, environmental sustainability and equal opportunity for its residents.
The first forum will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, at the Blaine High School cafeteria.
Three other forums are scheduled, including the last one from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, October 4, at the Lynden Library. Forums will feature brief presentations by project leaders and discussions of draft vision statements.
