An accountability report by Washington State Auditor Troy Kelley in regards to the city of Blaine’s compliance with state laws and regulations was released on February 4.

The state auditor’s office evaluates internal operations for the city and to ensure that the city is operating according to its own policies and procedures. It examined high-risk areas for noncompliance such as purchasing cards, cost allocation plans and whether or not the city was following the Open Public Meetings Act.

The city is audited annually and this year’s report determined that for the 10th consecutive year the city of Blaine was compliant with state regulations and up to par with its operations.
