The annual Mother’s Day weekend art studio tour in Blaine, Birch Bay and Custer is expanding this year. More than half of the
40-plus artists featured on the self-guided tour are new participants.

The Blaine Harbor Art Gallery has taken over the organization of the event this year. This will be their first event and will coincide with the launch of their online art gallery. They have partnered with 14 different sites around the area, including Dakota Creek Winery,  which is celebrating its spring wine release.

Also new this year is the postcard passport, which rewards visitors who visit every site with the chance to win a $75 cash prize. “The experience will be refreshingly novel for visitors who take the tour each year,” organizer Sylvia Hayden said.

Maps and information are available at and brochures can be found at the Blaine visitor center.
