Blaine City Council is inviting community members to a stakeholder’s reception on Thursday, May 23 where they can meet finalists for the city manager position.
The city has been working with Kara Turner of Turner HR Services, Inc. to find and screen candidates for the position since city manager Gary Tomsic announced his retirement on January 14.
In all, the city received 45 applicants. Ten semi-finalists were interviewed in April; four were selected by the council to move forward in the process, but two have withdrawn their applications.
The two remaining candidates, Dave Wilbrecht of Mammoth Lakes, California and Mike Pence of Kalispell, Montana will tour the city, meet with the city management team and have the opportunity to meet the community during the stakeholder’s reception on Thursday. In addition to mingling, candidates will have the opportunity to address the group.
The reception will be held at Blaine City Hall council chambers from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Attendees will be able to offer city council written feedback regarding the candidates after the reception.
