The initial ballot count from the primary election leaves Charlie Hawkins and Brian Thomasson still in the running for the Ward 2 position 4 seat on the Blaine City Council. David Gallion conceded the race.

Incumbent Hawkins, a 67-year-old bus driver for Blaine school district, who is seeking his third term, garnered just under 54 percent of the vote.

Thomasson, a 27-year-old real estate broker, garnered nearly 32 percent of the vote. A total of 231 votes were tallied. 
General elections will be held November 5.
