October was another colorful month at the Blaine Senior/Activity Center. One of the major events was the Big Basket Bingo where some lucky people won great prizes.
As always, we enjoyed the pancake breakfast and many other events.
Now November’s here – a time to be especially thankful for our freedom and heritage and a time to be thankful for our many blessings including fellowship, information and food at our center.
Some big events are on tap at the center:
Thursday, November 14: Birthday lunch with music by Buyani-Nguni, a traditional African marimba band with performers from South Africa using handmade instruments.
Saturday, November 16, 8–11 a.m.: Pancake breakfast with pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy or French toast with fruit, eggs, sausage, coffee and orange juice.
Thursday, November 21, noon: Thanksgiving lunch with the Threshold Singers.
Saturday, November 23, 1 p.m.: EZ bingo. Win cash and prizes. $10 admission, anyone can play. Taco salad meal or baked potato meal.
Thursday, November 28, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.: Community Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by the American Legion Post 86.
Thursday–Saturday, November 28, 29 and 30: Center will be closed.
Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.: Christmas bazaar. More than 30 craft people will be participating. There will a cookie lane, deli lunch, Santa and more! This is a real Blaine holiday tradition so do not miss it.
Have a happy and thankful Thanksgiving.
Be thankful for your many blessings and fun and fellowship at your senior center.
