The Blaine Fine Arts Association will host the 17th annual Arts and Jazz community celebration at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 in the Blaine High School cafeteria.

This year’s celebration will feature a live and silent auction, dancing, musical performances by the Blaine High School jazz band and chamber choir, and artistic displays by the school’s talented art and drama students.

Admission is $5 and proceeds will benefit the arts in Blaine school district, including the art, drama, band and choir departments. Last year, the event raised more than $9,300 in donations, which helped pay for art equipment, funded drama performances at the high school and provided $3,000 in arts-scholarship money on behalf of the Blaine Fine Arts Association (BFAA). The money even helped send the chamber choir and wind ensemble to San Diego and Funabashi, Japan, respectively.

This year’s silent auction will feature a wide variety of donations from local businesses and community members, including artwork, vacations, food and more.

Those who can’t make it to this year’s celebration can still contribute to the BFAA’s cause by mailing in contributions.

Anyone interested in making a donation should make checks payable to BFAA-Arts and Jazz and send them to the Blaine Fine Arts Association at P.O. Box 1545, Blaine, Washington, 98231.
