A fundraiser for the victims of the Oso landslide will be held at Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen on Friday, May 2. The event will feature a variety of local beers on draft, food, live music, raffle prizes and a silent auction. All proceeds from beer and food sales, raffle tickets and silent auction items will go to the American Red Cross’ “Oso Mudslide Relief Fund.”

Since the March 22 tragedy, Red Cross has stationed more than 350 trained disaster workers at or near the slide site, who are mostly from Washington state. Multiple shelters have been set up, and the volunteers continue to serve countless meals to rescue workers and affected families, provide counselors and caseworkers to help with individual recovery plans and so much more.

The organizers of Bellingham Beer Week and Chuckanut Brewery’s owners and staff are putting together the fundraiser. Many local and regional businesses have graciously donated items for this event, with more than $7,000 worth of items so far.

Auction items include sports-ticket packages, gourmet foods and beverages, weekend getaways, clothing, snowboards, ski tickets, a six-day mountaineering course from American Alpine Institute and many more. The fundraiser will be at Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen, located at 601 W. Holly Street in Bellingham from 5 to 9 p.m. on May 2. Entry is free. For more information, visit kism.com/events.
