Blaine’s ninth annual Springfest Art Tour is this weekend, and the tour, which falls on Mother’s Day, will showcase the work of 36 local artists and artisans at several venues in and around Blaine, giving you the perfect opportunity to buy something nice for mom.
This year the majority of exhibitors will be featured either at the Dakota Creek Winery or the Semiahmoo Resort and Spa.
Blaine Primary School artists will display their work at The Pizza Factory and Paso del Norte in downtown Blaine while Bayside Treasures will host a sculptors showcase. The tour includes artists from many disciplines: painting, fiber art, photography, jewelry, stained glass, woodwork, pottery, pet portraits and sculpture.
For its first eight years, Springfest was a tour with many sites in and around Blaine, Birch Bay and Custer, but this year, with the addition of the Semiahmoo Resort and Spa as a major co-sponsor of the event, organizers are able to consolidate the tour and provide a venue for nearly half the artists.
“This should take the angst out of selecting which artists to see and which not,” spokesperson Helen Worley said. “They are fairly evenly divided between the two locations, with bonus sites in between.”
