The city of Blaine and the Port of Bellingham are seeking input from the community on Marine Drive and will be conducting a community meeting on Thursday, May 22  from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Blaine City council chambers.

The road leading to the pier has been failing for many years and is now in a very deteriorated condition. The road provides a  popular public access to the Port of Bellingham pier at the end of the road and has been used for vehicle access for decades.

Both the city and the port have indicated they have limited funds to fully restore the road and wishes to discuss how the road might be used in the future for public access including a pedestrian walk.

The city and port invite the public to the meeting and welcome comments and feedback regarding next steps for the use of the road.

Council chambers are located at 435 Martin Street in Blaine on the fourth floor.
