Looking for a fun activity for your entire family, including man’s (and woman’s) best friend? Then join Water’s Edge Church at Bay Horizon Park in Birch Bay on Saturday, May 31, for Paws for a Cause, a family- and dog-friendly fun run/walk.

The event, which benefits Relay for Life, is designed to allow walkers and runners to bring their four-legged friends along as they take steps toward finding a cure.

Registration forms are available now at Bow Wow and Woofs, Bay Cafe and Rover Stay Over, for preregistration, and participants can also register at the event from 9 to 10 a.m. Early bird registration is $10 per person before Wednesday, May 21.

After May 21, registration will be $12 per person (ages 6 and under free) and $5 per dog.

Participants will begin their walk at 10 a.m. and it is expected to last an hour. “The event is  around the park, so you can walk a lap and stop and chat, or walk for the full hour,” said Water’s Edge Church pastor Jim Carberry. “It’s really up to the participants.”

Proceeds from Paws for a Cause will benefit Relay for Life. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times.
