Birch Bay-Lynden Road reopened at the railroad tracks near Portal Way after construction closed the road for nearly two weeks.
The road was reopened June 5, three days earlier than the scheduled date of June 8. Improvements including a traffic signal, turn lanes, drainage upgrades, railroad crossing upgrades and a stormwater pond are still underway. The construction is taking place where the road intersects the railroad tracks just west of Portal Way.
Single-lane flagged traffic will be in effect at times throughout the project, which is scheduled to last through August. Motorists should expect intermittent delays Monday through Friday beginning at 6 a.m.
