DOE, county staff begin monitoring saltwater beaches across the state
Volunteers and staff from Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) and the Whatcom County health department have begun summer-long monitoring of high-use saltwater beaches in Whatcom County, including Birch Bay.
Hands Across the Border celebration coming up
The 90th annual Hands Across the Border celebration will be held on Sunday, June 10, at Peace Arch State Park. The I-5 freeway will be closed at Exit 276 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a detour will be in place.
