Lila Jane Pearson Forsythe: January 18, 1926 – August 17, 2011
Lila passed away at Bellingham Health Care. She was born January 18, 1926 in Custer, to Jesse L. Pearson and Cora Reynolds Pearson. Lila grew up in the Custer area and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1944. On Dec. 9, 1945, she married the love of her life, Alister (Choke) Forsythe. Lila and Al lived for a few years in Oregon before returning to Whatcom County. In the late1960's Lila joined Al on the golf course, first at Grandview Golf Course and later the Bellingham Golf and Country Club. Lila loved the competition and camaraderie of golfing. She won some tournaments and made three holes-in-one.
Lila leaves Al and her two children, Sheila Forsythe Nawman and husband, Gary of Ferndale, and Dean Alister Forsythe and wife, Mikeal of Bellingham; and two grandchildren, Jesse Forsythe and wife, Kim of Bothell, and Melissa Forsythe of Bellingham. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold Pearson, and sisters, ZelIa Pierce, Virginia Glasier, Jessie Boice, and Maxine Maddux. Memorial services will be at Moles Greenacres Funeral Home on Sat., Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. with a coffee hour to follow.
