Christopher Arin Woods of Seattle, WA passed away at UW Medical Center awaiting an organ transplant. Born in Stockton, CA to Jane and Howard Woods, Chris was a kind and caring man who loved snowboarding, swimming, computers and most of all, his family. He will be remembered as a man who gave more than he took and was always there for anyone who needed him.

In 1976 Chris moved with his family to Blaine, WA where he grew up attending Blaine schools. He was excited to enter the computer engineering field and moved to Seattle to further his career in 2000. He was a huge supporter of open source software and was one of the founders of the annual Bellingham Linuxfest. Most importantly, Chris was an amazing father to his six-year old son Aiden, who was the center of his life.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Elsie and Ralph Walline, and June and Harold Woods. He is survived by his son Aiden of Seattle, his parents Jane and Howard “Woody” Woods of Blaine, his brother Bob, sister-in-law Rachel, nephews Kailen and Kasen, Kent, and his special friend Yonnie Tauschek, Seattle. Chris requested a no-fuss celebration of his life.

Family and close friends are invited to an informal celebration of Chris’ life August 25, 2013 from 11 to 3 p.m. at the family home in Blaine. In Chris’ memory, the family is requesting that everyone make sure they are signed up as organ donors. Chris always felt that flowers were a waste so the family will be planting a tree in his memory. Any donations received will be placed in Aiden’s GET account as Aiden was the joy of Chris’  life, and his greatest wish was that Aiden would know he is loved and cared for.
