John H. Kent, born April 5, 1929 in Pierre, South Dakota passed away on December 23. 

His loving wife of 37 years, Linda, was by his side. John graduated from Vancouver High School in 1947 and then completed 
two years at Vanport College in Portland, Oregon. After serving in the US Army, John began a long and distinguished business career, starting at Omark Industries where he was a pioneer in saw chain sales and marketing. John went on to start numerous companies including Interlube International Inc., currently located in Blaine, WA.

Fishing was John’s true passion but he also enjoyed hunting and golfing. John is survived by his daughter Lori, sons Mike, Jeff, Scott, Mark and Rick, sisters Mary-Alice and Carol, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. John will be remembered most for his self-reliant take-charge approach to life and his favorite saying…“Every problem creates an opportunity”. A memorial service will be held at a yet to be determined time in the future.
