POLICE REPORTS
April
11: Officers conducted foot patrol of the downtown business
area. One disturbance was handled in the 400 block of Peace
Portal Drive. Nothing else unusual was found and all businesses
were secure.
April 10: An officer saw a car in a ditch in the
300 block of Allen Street. An officer saw a subject walk
away who was later identified as the driver. The vehicle
was towed to Crown Towing. The driver was later located,
found to have warrants, arrested and taken to jail.
April 10: While on foot patrol in the 500 block of
Peace Portal Drive officers saw a vehicle leaving the parking
lot of a closed business. One officer checked the business
while the other followed the vehicle to Canada Customs.
A broken window was found on a parked car.
April 10: A person called to report a suspicious
person loitering around a local business. The suspect was
contacted and, at the reporting persons request, was
trespassed from the business. The suspect left without incident.
April 9: An officer assisted a WCSO deputy with a
suspect contact in the 4500 block of Drayton Harbor Road.
The person was taken into custody by the deputy without
incident.
April 9: Officers were assisting U.S. Immigration
with a suspended driver at the Peace Arch POE. A U.S. Customs
officer requested officers to stop a car that failed to
stop at customs. Officers assisted by stopping the car.
April 9: A resident in the 400 block of Peace Portal
Drive filed a report with police about her landlord. She
said he keeps entering her apartment without giving notice.
Officers were attempting to contact the landlord.
April 9: An officer was advised of two subjects teeing
off on the bridge on Mitchell Street, with golf balls landing
on the interstate. An officer located the golfing duo walking
on Mitchell and advised them to practice their golf game
elsewhere.
April 9: Officers contacted a driver at the Peace
Arch POE for a suspended driver. He was cited and his car
was impounded.
April 9: Officers responded to a reported assault
at a residence in the 900 block of Blaine Avenue. The officers
arrested two adult females for mutual DV/assault 4th. One
female was cited and released and the other was booked into
jail.
April 9: A subject was being detained at the Peace
Arch POE for being in possession of a suspended Kansas drivers
license. He was cited for DWLS/R 3rd degree and released.
The vehicle was impounded.
April 9: An officer was summoned to search for a
subject who had forged a check and tried to cash the check
at a local bank. A juvenile was found, arrested, and taken
to juvenile detention. The parents were notified.
April 8: U.S. Customs reported two male subjects:
one juvenile in possession of marijuana and one adult in
possession of a drug pipe. The juvenile was arrested and
released. The adult will be summoned for possession of drug
paraphernalia.
April 8: A resident reported a 12-year-old male driving
a car in an alley in the 1000 block of Mitchell Street.
The violation was not seen by an officer. The child and
his parent were sternly warned about possible future consequences
of the same scenario.
April 8: A motel manager in the 200 block of Cedar
Street reported that a guest checked out of a room and removed
motel property valued at $164. A Blaine officer investigated
and will send a theft report and summons to the prosecutor
for review.
April 8: A Blaine officer assisted U.S. Customs by
investigating an incident after U.S. Customs inspectors
seized a small amount of marijuana and a pipe during an
inspection. A man was arrested and cited to Blaine court.
April 8: During a traffic stop for speeding an officer
discovered the driver had bought the vehicle in September
2000 and had failed to transfer the title. The driver was
issued a citation for the offense.
April 7: Officers checked on the welfare of a senior
resident in the 1800 block of Peace Portal Drive who seemed
disoriented and had blood on his face. The man had been
in an auto accident and was out for a walk. He cut himself
shaving and needed no police assistance.
April 7: A motorist reported a vehicle collision
on state route 543 and D Street. Officers responded and
located a blocking, multiple vehicle, injury collision.
Officers treated the injured until fire personnel arrived.
April 7: A Blaine officer assisted the fire department
with an ALS response to the home of a 79-year-old diabetic
who was unable to care for himself in the 1100 block of
Blaine Street. The senior resident was conscious and breathing.
Medics handled the call.
April 4: An officer observed two juveniles throwing
tree branches off the overpass on Mitchell Avenue. Contact
was made with the juveniles who were ages six and seven
and a stern warning was given. Contact was made with the
parents.
April 4: A person reported a car prowl in progress
in the 400 block of Peace Portal Drive. Officers were unable
to locate the suspects. Nothing is believed to have been
taken.
April 4: A resident in the 600 block of B Street
phoned police to report her husband taking her car. Officers
contacted the husband who said they are in the process of
getting a divorce. The husband returned the car and the
wife was happy.
April 4: U.S. Immigration informed officers that
there was a subject in a restaurant in the 200 block of
D Street that had an outstanding warrant. Officers located
the subject and found that he did not have any warrants.
April 4: An officer contacted a man digging on a
public right of way in the 1700 block of Hughes in the early
morning hours. The man was taking gravel from the shoulder
of the road to use in his garden. He was given a warning
and decided to buy his own
gravel.
April 4:An officer provided a stranded traveler a
courtesy ride from the area of the Pacific Highway POE to
a local motel.
April 3: An officer investigated a complaint that
someone forced the Drayton Hillside gate open with their
vehicle and caused $50 damage.
