POLICE REPORTS
July
23: A U.S. Customs inspector intercepted a motorist
with a suspended California drivers license at the
Peace Arch POE. A Blaine officer investigated the incident,
cited the driver to Blaine municipal court and impounded
the vehicle.
July 23: Officers responded to a report of an adult
male with an irregular heartbeat in the 600 block of 12th
Street. Officers monitored the male until medics arrived.
July 23: A resident in the 600 block of A Street
reported that a rottweiler was blocking his way to the mailbox.
The dog was gone when the officer arrived. Extra patrol
was provided to the area.
July 22: Officers were dispatched to an aid call
for man having an allergic reaction to a bee sting in the
4400 block of D Street. Officers monitored the man until
an aid unit arrived.
July 22: An officer assisted a Whatcom County sheriffs
deputy in contacting a possible victim of domestic violence
in the 500 block of 8th Street. The officer stood by while
the deputy spoke to the victim.
July 22: Officers were dispatched to assist the fire
department with a victim of an assault in the 8700 block
of Semiahmoo Parkway. The fire department then canceled
the request and advised the victim was going to the hospital
on his own. The case is under investigation.
July 22: Officers were dispatched to the Peace Arch
POE in reference to two subjects in possession of marijuana.
An officer arrested the two and issued criminal citations.
The subjects were released to U.S. Customs officials.
July 21: U.S. Customs reported a citizen driving
on a suspended drivers license. The officer confirmed
the persons license was suspended, arrested the driver,
and released her with a court date. The vehicle was impounded.
July 21: An officer was advised of a past criminal
trespass in the 1900 block of H Street. The caretaker advised
someone had entered the residence through a large pet door.
There was no damage or anything taken. Extra patrol was
requested.
July 21: An officer was advised of a possible stolen
vehicle in the 300 block of Marine Drive. The officer determined
that the owner of the vehicle had moved it to her home.
Further action by either party is civil.
July 20: Officers were dispatched to the Peace Arch
POE for a person in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Officers arrested the person and issued a criminal citation.
The person was then released.
July 19: A person in the 400 block of Cedar Street
reported an abandoned bus near Cedar Street that he felt
should be impounded. A notice was left on the bus giving
the owner 72 hours to move it.
July 19: A citizen reported a male possibly dead,
sleeping or passed out in his car in the parking lot of
a business in the 1700 block of H Street. An officer found
the male to be sleeping with his car door open and his feet
lying on the asphalt outside.
July 19: An officer served a misdemeanor arrest warrant
on an individual and booked her into Whatcom County Jail.
July 19: An individual at a business in the 1300
block of Boblett Street reported that an intoxicated adult
was annoying customers by trying to get a ride to Arizona.
Officers identified the hitchhiker and a motorist gave the
person a ride to Bellingham.
July 18: An individual reported a vehicle prowl in
the 1700 block of H Street. The victim reported that her
purse was the only thing removed from her vehicle.
July 18: A complainant in the 500 block of G Street
reported he found 10 prescription pills on his front porch.
He believes the pills were left there to try and set him
up. The case is under investigation.
July 18: An individual in the 1000 block of Mitchell
Street reported a suspect told her he wanted to kill her
brother. The suspect denied making any threats towards the
victim. The case was forwarded to the prosecutors
office for review.
July 18: An individual in the 600 block of Adelia
Street reported he lost his prescription bottle containing
96 pills of methadone. The case is under investigation.
July 18: An officer responded to a call that a passenger
dumped trash out of a vehicle in the 1600 block of Peace
Portal Drive. The violator was contacted and admitted dumping
trash. The incident will be reviewed by the city attorney.
July 18: An individual in the 600 block of Cherry
Street reported that friend harassed her in front of her
nine-year-old daughter. An information report was completed
and no further action was requested.
July 18: Whatcom County Sheriffs deputies requested
emergency cover for a subject they were attempting to arrest
in the 4900 block of Forsberg Road. Officers responded and
assisted in taking the person into custody.
July 18: An officer helped direct the fire department
to a residence in the 1500 block of D Street for an eight-year-old
who was ill.
July 17: A report was received concerning three people
entering a house under construction in the 2300 block of
Seaside Drive. An officer contacted the three who were getting
ideas for a house they are building in the area. The trio
was warned about entering someone elses property.
July 17: Officers responded to a 911 hang up call
in the 1100 block of Mitchell Street. Upon arrival, officers
discovered that a parent had assaulted a child. The parent
was arrested and booked into Whatcom County Jail.
