POLICE REPORTS
January
28: Officers responded to a fight amongst four juvenile
males in the 900 block of Mitchell Street. Officers contacted
all four juveniles and determined there were no injuries.
The juveniles were warned and their parents were notified.
January 28: A bank in the 200 block of G Street reported
two males possibly attempting to deposit a forged check
for a large sum of money. Officers determined that the men
had not knowingly done anything wrong. The check was fake
and was impounded by police.
January 27: An officer responded to a vehicle in
a ditch in the 1500 block of Peace Portal Drive. An officer
found the unoccupied vehicle and determined it was a traffic
hazard. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver was located
at his home.
January 27: Speed and icy road conditions were the
cause of a driver placing her vehicle into a ditch. No damage
was done to the vehicle. A warning was issued to the driver
for driving too fast for conditions. The vehicle was impounded.
January 26: An officer was contacted by a transient
looking for a ride in the 1800 block of Peace Portal Drive.
The officer discovered the individual had entered the country
illegally. The subject was turned over to U.S. Border Patrol
agents.
January 26: An officer was advised of a suspicious
circumstance regarding a misplaced video game. A report
was taken.
January 26: Officers received a report of vandalism
done to a home in the 600 block of 10th Street. Officers
contacted the suspect and the suspects parents. The
victim did not wish to file charges.
January 26: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic
violation in the 1400 block of Peace Portal Drive and determined
the driver was DUI. He was arrested, issued a criminal citation,
and released. The vehicle was impounded.
January 25: Officers responded to a domestic dispute
in the 1600 block of Peace Portal Drive. One individual
admitted to damaging property and was booked into Whatcom
County Jail.
January 25: Officers were dispatched to a domestic
dispute in the 1000 block of Mitchell Street. Officers arrested
one subject and booked him into Whatcom County jail for
DV assault four.
January 25: An officer stopped a driver for speeding
in the 800 block of H Street and discovered the driver had
a suspended drivers license. The driver was issued
a criminal citation with a mandatory court date and released.
The vehicle was impounded.
January 24: An officer received a report of checks
totaling $2,691 written from a closed account. Victim banks
are in Blaine, Bellingham, and Ferndale. A fraud investigation
is in progress.
January 24: An individual at the Peace Arch POE was
issued a criminal citation for having a suspended California
drivers license. The vehicle was impounded.
January 24: A Blaine officer stopped a vehicle for
speeding and discovered the driver was DUI on I-5 at mile
post 275. The driver was arrested, processed, and released
with a mandatory court appearance.
January 24: Police impounded drug paraphernalia that
had been found in the area of the Blaine Harbor.
January 24: An officer responded to the Peace Arch
POE for a suspended driver. It was confirmed the driver
was suspended. He was issued a criminal citation with a
mandatory court date.
January 23: An officer received a report from a property
manager of illegal trash dumping in the 400 block of Cherry
Street. An officer contacted the suspect and advised her
of the complaint.
January 23: Officers responded to an aid call in
the 300 block of E Street. Officers provided aid until medics
arrived.
January 23: An officer received a threat complaint
from a resident in the 600 block of Mitchell Street. The
case is under investigation.
January 23: Officers responded to an activated fire
alarm in the 700 block of G Street. Officers assisted the
fire department in locating a broken water line that was
setting off the alarm. Officers were cleared without further
incident.
January 23: An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding
in the 1400 block of Peace Portal Drive. The driver attempted
to run from the officer and was determined to be DWLS/R
3rd and DUI. He was arrested, processed, and released with
a court appearance date. The vehicle was impounded.
January 22: Officers searched the area of 12th Street
after a citizen reported a male subject who looked like
he was trying to get into locked vehicles. The subject was
not found.
January 22: Officers responded to a report of a domestic
dispute in the 1000 block of 4th Street and found no domestic,
only a woman distraught over her cable being disconnected.
January 22: An officer was sent to the 600 block
of 8th Street regarding a past business burglary. The officer
was advised that some food and computer items had been taken
over the weekend. A report was taken.
January 22: Officers responded to the 300 block of
Alder Street regarding a domestic disturbance. Officers
determined that no assault took place and was only verbal.
Officers were told that they would try to work on their
problems quietly.
January 22: An unlicensed driver was reported to
be at the Peace Arch POE. He never renewed his Colorado
drivers license when it expired four years ago. He
was in possession of an international driving permit from
Valise, Mexico.
January 21: An individual was found in possession
of a small amount of marijuana and two pipes in the 200
block of H Street. He was cited for the offense..
