POLICE REPORTS
April
2: During a vacation watch security check at a residence
in the 1400 block of Runge Avenue, an officer noticed a
vehicle missing. Case under investigation.
April 1: Very expensive parts were taken from a wrecked
car at a storage facility in the 1100 block of Yew Avenue.
Officers have a suspect and will be contacting him.
March 30: U.S. Customs reported subjects in possession of
precursor chemicals for drug manufacture. Blaine officers
investigated, seized evidence, and forwarded the case report
to the prosecutor for review.
March 30: An officer stopped a car for an equipment violation
at Hughes and Odell streets and found the driver was driving
with a revoked license and was wanted on a felony arrest
warrant from California. He was booked into jail and his
car was impounded.
March 30: A BMX Huffy bike valued at $150 was reported stolen.
It was taken from the sidewalk by Mitchell Street and Boblett
Avenue. The case is under investigation.
March 30: Officers were called to a report of a missing
car. While investigating in the 500 block of F Street, they
found that a DV assault and DV malicious mischief had occurred.
Officers arrested and booked a male into Whatcom County
Jail.
March 29: A citizen in the 900 block of E Street reported
a 10-year-old boy had egged her house. An officer contacted
the boy and a parent, who decided to apologize and clean
up the mess.
March 29: WCSO requested assistance from a Blaine officer
for an alarm call at a business in the 8400 block of Harborview.
An officer discovered someone had thrown a rock through
the window of a front door. WCSO has a possible suspect.
March 28: Officers responded to a gas station in the 1500
block of H Street for a suspicious male possibly casing
the place. An officer contacted the subject and arrested
him for unlawful possession of a firearm, brandishing a
firearm, and no CPL.
March 28: Officer stopped a vehicle at Bell Road and Peace
Portal Drive with a defective exhaust and learned the vehicle
license plates did not belong to the stopped vehicle. Officer
issued infractions for switched plates, no insurance, and
defective exhaust.
March 28: Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute
in the 8700 block of Wood Duck Way. The subjects involved
decided to work out their differences with a counselor.
Officers cleared when the counselor arrived.
March 27: Officers were asked to contact a man who appeared
to be setting up camp in a service station parking lot in
the 1500 block of H Street. He was contacted and agreed
to leave and find a camping place in Canada.
March 27: A mens red/silver 800 Sport Trek bicycle
was found in a driveway in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue.
The bicycle was turned into police for safekeeping.
March 27: An individual was ordered to be booked into jail
by a Blaine municipal court judge. Before an officer arrived,
she fled the courtroom. The subject was arrested and booked
into Whatcom County jail.
March 26: A citizen reported someone had entered his unlocked
car in the 300 block of Clark Street and stolen some loose
change and an ashtray. No damage was done to the car.
March 26: A resident in the 700 block of School Drive reported
a suspect prowled his car, ransacked the glove compartment
and took his car stereo remote control. An officer obtained
evidence from the car which may lead to a suspect.
March 26: A resident in the 600 block of 12th Street reported
a theft of her green 2000 Ford Ranger pick up. Her husbands
ash tray was taken from his vehicle and the door was left
open. An officer investigated the theft and other car prowls.
The stolen vehicle was recovered by Surrey RCMP later in
the day. Under investigation.
March 26: A resident in the 500 block of G Street reported
that his ID and keys were stolen from his unlocked car.
This and six other car prowls are being investigated.
March 26: A resident in the 900 block of Peace Portal Drive
reported someone entered his unlocked van and ransacked
the glove compartment. The suspect took change, a jacket,
and a $72 watch. Under investigation.
March 26: Officers responded to a reported assault in the
800 block of Boblett Street between an adult and a child.
The adult was contacted and arrested for the assault.
March 26: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block
of Peace Portal Drive for having two small children unrestrained
in the front seat. The driver had a suspended license and
no proof of insurance. He was issued several citations and
released. The vehicle was impounded.
