June
29: Blaine police were asked to cover a Whatcom County
deputy who was responding to check on a report of a man
walking in the 4700 block of Bayshore Drive with a weapon.
Officers were able to clear without incident.
June 29: Officers were dispatched to a complaint
of an intoxicated subject in the 300 block of Peace Portal.
Upon arrival they located a half naked man sleeping on the
complainants porch. Officers located the mans
home and transported him there.
June 28: A driver parked his car, leaving it in neutral.
The car rolled across the street, colliding with a city
light post in the 500 block of Peace Portal Drive. The driver
viewed the damage, but left the scene without reporting
the accident. He was arrested for hit & run.
June 28: Officer found a train blocking the crossing
at Bell Road and Peace Portal Drive. Office made contact
with the railroad, who managed to get the train off the
crossing. The crossing was blocked for approximately for
20 minutes.
June 27: Victim reported her boyfriend assaulted
her while she was in the vehicle with him. Officer determined
the assault took place in the county. Case forwarded to
the Whatcom County sheriffs office.
June 27: Officer responded to SR543 and Boblett regarding
a two car accident with injury. One driver was transported
to the hospital. One driver was given infractions for speed
too fast for conditions and no insurance.
June 26: Officers were dispatched to a call of two
men using a sling shot to shoot at birds in the 1300 block
of H Street. Officers contacted the two men who advised
they were shooting at an empty beer can. They put away the
sling shots and left.
June 26: Complainant reported several grave stones
had been pushed over in the cemetery. Officer located and
arrested four juveniles for damaging graves. Case forwarded
to the juvenile prosecutor.
June 26: A parent wanted to report possible abuse
of her child. Officers took statements and photographs of
a red mark found on the child. The parent was advised to
have a doctor examine the child. Under investigation.
June 25: A person threw a lit cigarette in the road
in front of officers. The person was issued a citation for
littering. He then picked up the cigarette.
June 24: Officers responded to a vandalism call in
the 1300 block of Adelia Street and discovered that three
children entered an unoccupied residential structure and
started a smoldering fire. The children were identified
by police. The incident is being investigated.
June 24: Officers responded to an intrusion alarm
at the Blaine middle school and observed one adult and two
juvenile males on the roof of the primary school. Fresh
graffiti was discovered. The males were taken into custody.
June 24: Officers stopped and contacted a motorhome
which entered the US and drove three blocks down Peace Portal
completely on the wrong side of the road. The newly arrived
British driver was counseled on the right use of our roadways..
