October
21: Officers assisted a lost/stranded female in the
500 block of Peace Portal Drive by giving her a ride to
the Pacific Highway border crossing at her request.
October 20: Officers responded to a report of an
argument in progress in the 700 block of G Street. It was
found to be a resident and two vandals discussing some vandalism
that had occurred. Resident did not want to press criminal
charges.
October 20: Officers were advised of a subject in
the 600 block of A Street who had been arrested the previous
day for domestic violence assault and was back at the victims
residence. Officers arrived and found the man hiding in
the house. He was arrested and booked into jail.
October 20: A child in the 800 block of Cedar Street
reported problems with a parent. He did not want to go to
town with his dad. The child has had a recent change in
medication that may be causing problems. The parent will
take the boy to get professional help.
October 19: Officers were dispatched to intercede
in a domestic dispute in the 600 block of A Street. As one
of the involved parties had visible injuries, the other
party was placed under arrest for domestic violence simple
assault.
October 19: Officers were dispatched to a person
in an abandoned house in the 1300 block of E Street. Officers
talked to three people who are fixing up the house so they
can move into it. Their story was confirmed with the home
owner.
October 19: Officers received a report of vandalism
in the 9700 block of Vista Terrace. Officers arrived and
saw the yard had been spraypainted. There are no suspects
and extra patrol will be provided when possible.
October 19: Officers were dispatched to the 1400
block of Harrison Street to check on a young male who was
sneaking around a neighborhood in a suspicious manner. The
young man was contacted. He stated he was just out for a
walk and was looking at his new neighborhood.
October 19: Blaine officers assisted USBP agents
in searching for two males who were observed jumping from
a vehicle in Canada and running through the woods into the
U.S.
October 18: A resident in the 8600 block of Blue
Grouse Way reported awakening to find a man in her home.
She reported the man ran from the residence. She contacted
a neighbor, who called police. An extensive search of the
home and area uncovered no trace of the subject.
October 18: Complainant reported his neighbor was
speeding up and down the street in the 9700 block of Vista
Terrace. There were no license plates on the car. Officer
contacted the owner of the vehicle and gave him a warning.
October 18: Complainant reported two male subjects
were arguing in front of a business in the 1700 block of
H Street. Officer arrived and split the two up. Both subjects
were yelling at each other over their driving. The parties
went their separate ways.
October 16: Officer was dispatched to check an abandoned
home in the 1300 block of E Street for a person living inside
without permission. Officers checked the residence and found
proof that someone had been there. Officers will continue
checking the home.
October 16: A resident in the 100 block of Marine
Drive reported that someone was calling for help from a
sinking boat near Semiahmoo Spit. Blaine officers assisted
in the search. The Coast Guard located three people who
were in the water for 30 minutes and rescued them.
October 15: Officers were dispatched to intercede
in a verbal domestic dispute in the 900 block of 9th Street.
The involved parties agreed to separate for the evening.
October 15: A person said her neighbors in the 1600
block of Runge Road were harassing her because she was taking
up too many parking spots. Officers spoke with all parties
who agreed to be civil and let the apartment management
deal with the problem.
October 15: Officers were dispatched to a verbal
neighborhood dispute in the 500 block of 11th Street that
had escalated into a pushing/shoving match. Case forwarded
to the prosecutor for review.
October 15: Blaine police assisted the U.S. Border
patrol by trailing and stopping a vehicle which failed to
report for inspection at the Peace Arch POE. The vehicle
occupants were taken into custody by border patrol.
October 14: A person reported an abandoned car parked
in a residential area in the 1400 block of Mitchell for
over a year. Officers checked the car and left a notice
for the owner to move it.
October 14: An officer responded to a complaint about
a juvenile at a family restaurant and tavern in the 700
block of Peace Portal. When officer arrived, the boy was
gone but his mother was present. She claimed the anonymous
caller, an ex-boyfriend, is harassing her and her family...
