REPORTS
August 10:
Officers responded to a report of an unconscious male in
front of a business in the 1500 block of H Street. Officers
arrived and found that the man was very intoxicated and
had fallen down, striking his head. Aid was called and he
was transported to the hospital. The man had just purchased
another bottle of wine from the business in front of which
he had collapsed. A complaint for the sale of alcohol to
an intoxicated person is being reviewed.
August
10:
Officers responded to a 911 hang up call in the 9900 block
of Canada View. Upon arrival it was determined that the
person calling wanted to report suspicious activity near
the border. U.S. border patrol responded and found the suspicious
people to be tourists taking pictures of the international
boundary.

9:
Officers responded to a resident in the 1000 block of Adelia
Street who was receiving harassing phone calls, which were
not only nasty but annoying. Offices obtained the phone
number from which the calls were coming and located the
15-year-old suspect. He was interviewed and agreed to stop
being a nuisance.

8:
Officers were dispatched to a possible assault involving
a firearm in the 1400 block of Bayview Drive. Teenagers
initially reported that they went to a man�s house and were
ordered off the property at gun point. Officers determined
that no assault had occurred; however, the suspect did have
possession of a weapon and had a criminal record. He was
arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and
was booked into Whatcom County jail.

8:
A resident observed and reported a lady who appeared to
be in distress on Drayton Harbor Road just inside the city
limits. An officer investigated and discovered a very impaired
adult who was trying to walk to Blaine Marina from the Semiahmoo
area. The officer transported the woman to the safety of
a relative.

8:
A person called to report a small child wandering alone
behind a business in the 1700 block of Peace Portal Drive.
Upon officer�s arrival, the child had already been retrieved
by an adult. Officers contacted the adult who turned out
to be the child�s aunt. She advised that the child had just
learned how to open doors, and he had snuck out of the house.
The aunt was advised on ways to secure the doors.

8:
A resident in the 1300 block of 4th Street reported a former
tenant had returned to the property and was sleeping on
the grass behind the building. Officers are following up
to verify whether or not the sleep-over was conducted in
violation of a no trespass order.

8:
Officers observed a female sleeping in the 600 block of
Peace Portal drive on a bench with litter strewn underneath
her. Officer made contact with the lady and checked her
welfare. She identified herself as a traveler and said she
was not in need of assistance; she agreed to retrieve her
refuse.

7:
Officers responded to a report of juveniles fighting in
the street in the 1500 block of Mitchell Avenue and found
two boys who had been scuffling. One 15-year-old was arrested
for possession of drug paraphernalia. The children were
turned over to their parents. A case report will be submitted
to the prosecutor for review of assault charges.

7:
Officers responded to a passerby complaint that juveniles
were drinking and starting a bonfire in the parking lot
of a business by the beach in the 9200 block of Semiahmoo
Drive. Officers discovered a group of adults who were tending
to a small beach campfire without food or beverages or juveniles
in sight. They were advised of the complaint.

7:
Officers were dispatched to a verbal domestic in the 300
block of Alder Street. Officers spoke to both parties and
determined that no physical assault had occurred. The couple
stated they are starting counseling this week. Officers
cleared without incident.

7:
Officers responded to a report of an adult couple involved
in a physical domestic dispute in the 600 block of A Street.
The couple was in the process of splitting up when they
got into a fight over possession of personal property. The
male threw his ex-partner to the pavement, injuring her
shoulder and then left the scene. Officers located and arrested
the man for Domestic Violence/Assault 4 and booked him into
Whatcom County Jail. The woman was evaluated at the hospital
and released after treatment.

6:
A person complained about a transient sleeping on a bench
in front of a business in the 700 block of Peace Portal
Drive. There were also several unopened beer cans next to
the transient. Officers contacted him, but he refused help.
August
5:
A U.S resident was denied entry into Canada and tried two
times to sneak across the border. He was apprehended on
each occasion by Canadian immigration officers and returned
to U.S. Customs. The man became enraged when he was being
released and spat in the face of a female U.S. customs inspector.
A Blaine officer investigated the incident, arrested the
man, and cited him to Blaine Municipal Court for assault.

5:
A citizen in the 200 block of Marine Drive reported that
a creditor has been calling them and harassing them. The
creditor was calling for a person that does not and never
has resided with them. The person requested information
on how to get the creditor to quit calling.

Officers responded to multiple reports of juveniles preparing
to fight in the street in the 700 block of Adelia Avenue.
Officers contacted two very intoxicated 13 and 15-year-old
boys. The children were arrested and released to their parents.
The report will be submitted to the juvenile prosecutor
for minor in possession charges.

A Blaine officer assisted U.S. Customs with a special detail
which uncovered a man who was smuggling more than $77,000
of U.S. currency across the U.S. border. The man was booked
into jail by Customs. The money and the vehicle were seized.
