REPORTS
August 17:
When a person went to check his mail in the 800 block of
Alder Street, he saw a person dressed in black running from
the area. Extra patrol was provided to the area, but the
suspicious person was not located.

17:
Officers received a report from Canada Customs that they
were refusing entry to two occupants of a California plated
pick-up truck, because they believed the driver of the truck
was impaired. This truck was towed back to U.S. Customs,
where a Blaine officer contacted the two occupants. It was
determined the passenger was not impaired and did have a
valid driver�s license. The pair were allowed to leave,
with the passenger behind the wheel.
August
17:
A person in the 1300 block of Boblett Street reported that
her purse had been stolen. Within a few minutes of stealing
the purse, the suspect started using her credit cards. Her
bank was notified and the case is under investigation.

16:
Officers were dispatched to a report of trespassing in the
500 block of 11th Street. During the investigation, an officer
found what appeared to be a burglary/malicious mischief
which had occurred at a vacant home which the trespassers
had entered. Investigation is ongoing at this time.

16:
Officers were dispatched to a report of a person urinating
in public in the 300 block of Clark Street. The caller said
the man was relieving himself next to his truck, a short
distance from her residence. Officers contacted the person
who said he was shopping at garage sales and could not wait
to get to a restroom. Officers advised the man that charges
for lewd act would be sent to the prosecutor for review.

16:
Complainant in the 1500 block of Bayview Avenue reported
her daughter stole $500 from her purse and later admitted
it. Officer located the daughter who also implicated her
brother as helping her take the money. Officer arrested
the daughter and son for theft, 2nd degree and recovered
all the clothes the kids had purchased with the money. The
13-year-old female and the 16-year-old male were booked
into the juvenile detention facility.
August
15:
Officers received a call of a dispute at a business in the
100 block of SR543. Officers arrived and discovered a good
samaritan was refusing to let an intoxicated person get
behind the wheel of his vehicle. Following a confrontation
with the officers, the subject was placed under arrest for
disorderly conduct. The man provided a breath sample and
upon seeing the results, agreed with the officers that he
had too much to drink to be driving.

15:
A man reported someone unlocked his vehicle in the 300 block
of Marine Drive, removed a Browning 22-250 rifle, which
was hidden under the driver�s seat, ammunition and an Alpine
CD player. The suspect left a crowbar in the car. The incident
is under investigation.

14:
Officer received a report of a female transient in the 600
block of Peace Portal Drive who was yelling at people and
asking for cigarettes. Officer contacted the female and
advised her of the laws against panhandling. She said she
understood and would not do it again.

14:
A 17-year-old boy in the 500 block of 12th Street became
enraged at his mother for not giving him a larger allowance
and punched five holes in the drywall in his bedroom. His
parents asked a Blaine officer to document the incident
and to forward it to their son�s probation officer.

14:
An apartment manager in the 1600 block of Runge Road observed
two non-residents dumping a large quantity of trash into
the apartment complex trash bin. The manager confronted
the men and recorded the driver�s license number of the
vehicle before the man drove off. A Blaine officer traced
the license, contacted one suspect and had him recover his
trash from the bin. The suspect apologized to the manager
and agreed to reimburse the management for the extra pick-up
charges from prior incidents of illegal trash dumping.

14:
A resident in the 2200 block of Sea Side Drive reported
he was assaulted in his home by two of his wife�s cousins.
An officer investigated and contacted the suspects by phone.
The suspects came to the police station and admitted punching
the victim. The two were arrested and cited to Blaine Municipal
Court for assault in the fourth.

13:
A business in the 1700 block of H Street reported an abandoned
vehicle on his property that he believed was stolen. RCMP
confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from Burnaby, B.C.
Vehicle was impounded for safekeeping.
August
13:
Officers were asked to contact a resident in the 500 block
of F Street who was hearing multiple voices in his head
and seeing angels and/or devils. The resident was in the
care of his mother and was not in any immediate danger.
He was referred to his family doctor for treatment.
August
11:
A business in the 300 block of Peace Portal Drive found
an obscene message left on their answering machine. Officers
went to the house from which the call may have originated
and found it vacant. Investigation continues.

11:
A business in the 600 block of 14th Street called police
to report a homeless man who was hiding in some bushes.
Officers spoke to the man who was waiting for the bus. He
said he would try not to scare anyone while waiting.
August
11:
The police were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block
of A Street in reference to a physical domestic dispute.
A 23-year-old male subject was arrested and booked into
Whatcom County Jail for assault in the fourth degree.
