POLICE REPORTS
September 27:
A resident in the 200 block of Peace Arch
Court observed an unknown juvenile loitering in his driveway.
Officer contacted a 20-year-old male and found he was exhibiting
the effects of alcohol. The young man was cited to Blaine
Municipal Court for MIP.
September 27:
A citizen in the 9700 block of Vista Terrace
reported the theft of a firearm. A 23-year-old male was
identified as a suspect. While taking a report from a
citizen in regards to a stolen firearm, it was
learned that another firearm had been stolen a
few weeks earlier. An additional theft report was
taken. The man was arrested for the thefts and
booked into Whatcom County Jail.
September 26:
A citizen reported a male passed out on a
sidewalk in the 700 block of H Street. Officer contacted
the highly intoxicated man and determined he was not
in need of medical assistance. The officer provided the
man with a courtesy ride.
September 26:
A witness reported young men who were destroying
political signs that were on the lawn of a private residence
in the 700 block of Adelia Street. The witness was able
to provide a description and vehicle information of the
vandals. An officer later located the suspect vehicle
and spoke to the driver. The remorseful individual was
given a verbal warning about his behavior.
September 25:
A person entering the U.S. at the Peace Arch
Port of Entry was referred for a secondary inspection.
During that inspection about two grams of marijuana,
seeds and a pipe were found in the person’s truck. The
41-year-old man was arrested and issued a citation for
possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
September 24:
An officer contacted two juvenile
females in a store in the 1700 block of H Street
during school hours. The high school confirmed
that the girls were truant. The officer transported
the girls back to the school and released them
to the principal.
September 24:
An officer arrested a 17-year-old boy for
assault after he shot a 16-year-old girl with a plastic
projectile from an Air Soft pistol. The girl was
not seriously injured. The boy was released to his mother,
and the case has been forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor’s office.
September 24:
A person reported some materials were
stolen from a construction site in the 500 block of
E Street. The materials were valued at under $40. Extra
patrol of the area was requested for the evening hours.The
information was provided to officers and extra patrol
will be provided when possible.
September 24:
A woman came to the police station requesting
assistance in finding a place to stay for the night.
The woman left while the office staff was processing
her request, and she did not return.
September 24:
Report of a possible DUI about to leave
the area in the 1700 block of H Street. An officer found
the car traveling on a public highway. The driver was
stopped for committing traffic violations. The 64-year-old
man then failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested
for DUI. He refused the BAC and was issued a citation
for DUI. The car was impounded after the dogs in the
vehicle were picked up by the Humane Society.
September 24: A citizen reported accidentally hitting a dog with her vehicle after it ran out in front of her in the roadway. Officers responded and called for the Humane Society to help the injured dog, but the dog passed away prior to their arrival on scene.

23:
A citizen reported a possible DUI driver in the 1000
block of Mitchell Avenue. The driver pulled into his
residence and then passed out. Officers contacted the
intoxicated driver and arrested him for DUI.
September
23:
A car occupied by four teenagers stopped along the
road where a young child was walking in the 800 block
of H Street. The teenagers then sprayed the youngster
with water using squirt guns. The terrified child ran
home and told his mother about the incident. Officers
have a description of the car and the teenagers and the
investigation is ongoing.
September
22:
A parent in the 8800 block of Bald Eagle Drive reported
his daughter stole checks from him and then forged them.
The daughter passed one of the checks in Bellingham,
but was not able to pass anymore. Officers are waiting
for statements from the parents.
