POLICE REPORTS

March 19: Upon responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of D Street officers found a group of people who were attempting to get a motel room before going to Canada the next morning. During the contact officers learned one member of the group had a felony material witness warrant for her arrest. She was booked into Whatcom County Jail. The 23-year-old male driver of the vehicle was arrested for numerous traffic offenses and then released.

March 19: Blaine officers were dispatched to check on a suicidal subject who was on the phone with the Surrey RCMP dispatcher. Officers assisted the woman by transporting her to St. Joseph Hospital so she could talk with a mental health worker.

March 18: A resident reported loud music was being played in the 9800 block of Parkview. An officer responded and advised the music lover to turn the volume down. The resident complied and the officer cleared without incident.

March 17: A report was received that a person in the 9800 block of Poplar View Road had dumped garbage on some property. An officer spoke to the parties involved and determined the dispute was civil in nature and was related to a property line dispute. The parties were advised to seek legal counsel in the matter.

March 16: An anonymous caller in the 300 block of Alder Street reported hearing two people arguing in an apartment and things being thrown against a wall. Officer arrived and met with a woman inside the residence who said she and her daughter had been in an argument. During the argument the 17-year-old daughter caused damage to property inside the house. The girl was arrested on charges of domestic violence malicious mischief and was booked into juvenile detention facility.

March 16: A parent filed a report with police after learning her 10-year-old son had been assaulted by another boy at school. The child did not suffer any serious injuries. The parent only requested that the incident be documented.

March 16: An officer observed a vehicle driving in a negligent manner in the 2000 block of Peace Portal. A stop was initiated on the vehicle and a subsequent investigation revealed the driver had a suspended license. The driver was arrested, cited and released for the suspension violation and warned of his driving habits. The vehicle was towed and will be released to the registered owner.

March 16: A person reported he had been harassed by another but did not want to proceed with prosecution. An officer warned the individual that the harassment needed to stop immediately, and if it continued he would be arrested for the offense. The man stated he understood and officers cleared the area. About an hour later the victim reported having been harassed again. This time the suspect was arrested for harassment and booked into Whatcom County Jail.
