The sun broke through the clouds on an otherwise gloomy, grey day just long enough to keep the veterans and other community members honoring Veterans Day on Friday, November 11, relatively dry, if still a bit chilly.

Veterans from American Legion posts 86 and 247 and Veterans of Foregin Wars post 9474 hosted the ceremony, which was held in Veterans Plaza just outside the Blaine Police Department. Dozens of community members attended and were witness to  a brief speech honoring veterans past and present, a reading of names of the fallen from Blaine and Birch Bay, a 21-gun salute and a playing of taps.
