Coston Qualifies
Semiahmoo pro Jeff Coston carded a one-over 74-72-71 – 217 to earn $1,700 and tie for fifth in the PGA Club Professional Championships on August 21 at Indian Summer Golf and Country Club in Olympia and qualify for Western regional competition at Palm Springs, Calif., on October 10-14.

Football Jam
Blaine’s football faithful can get a preview of the 2001 Borderites on August 31 in the pre-season jamboree at Ferndale. Festivities start at 7 p.m.

Golf Classic
