The Borderites boy’s soccer team gave up a 5-0 lead in the first half and then 3 goals early in the second to send them spiraling to their seventh consecutive loss, 11-0 at Ferndale March 30. While Caspar Harezlak got 18 saves, he continued to be barraged by 29 shots on goal. He has 67 saves this season already.
The losses continued on the road against 6-1 Sehome April 5, surrendering a season high number of goals in a game in the 12-0 pasting. Going against, what Blaine coaches described, a highly ‘chippy’ Mariners team, Sehome received no yellow cards though there were repeated incidents of language and taunting. League rules specify that yellow cards are mandatory for any incidents of foul language. The Borderites have given up a league high 64 goals and stand 0-8 this season.
