Again, Blaine track coach shook up the line-up in preparation for the district and state tournaments as the Borderites lost only their second dual meet to Sehome 88-59.

Blaine defeated Sedro-Woolley 74-62 at the same event May 5 at Civic Field.

Sprint star Cherish Morrison did not run in the 200m or 400m sprints but was part of a new 4x400m relay lineup with Kiersten Sigfusson, Rachel McKinstry and Lindsey Freeman that won with a time of 4:13.30.

The Borderites swept the relay events with Morrison anchoring all three. Joining her on the 4x100 was Robin Taylor, McKinstry and Sigfusson, while Olivia Moore replaced Taylor in the 4x200. Morrison also won the 100m sprint with a time of 12.64.

Penina Laolagi won in both the shot put and the discus and Taylor tuned up for the upcoming sub-districts and district tournaments with a “state best” jump of 11-6.
